Transform your patients' lives!

Tongue- and lip-ties are causing heartache for the families you serve.

Mothers desperate to nurse their infants.

Toddlers struggling to speak their first words.

Children and adolescents never able to get a good night's sleep.

Adults fed up with headaches and neck tension.

You want to help, but offering a new procedure to treat them can feel overwhelming.

That’s why we created Tongue-Tied Academy, an online course that offers comprehensive training and ready-to-use resources so you can treat patients with confidence.

With a quick, 15-second procedure, your patients can:

Eat

with fewer struggles.

Babies nurse and bottle-feed easier and older children eat with less difficulty. Mom’s also report less pain with nursing.

Sleep

with more peace.

Infants and children often sleep more soundly as they can breathe through their noses, which can also improve behavior throughout the day.

Speak

with confidence.

Small children, who are just learning to speak, often form their first words with less difficulty, while older children speak with added clarity.

Tongue-Tied Academy was created for dentists & physicians who want to deepen their knowledge of this emerging field.

Meet your instructor,

Dr. Richard Baxter.

Dr. Richard Baxter is a board-certified pediatric dentist and Diplomate of the American Board of Laser Surgery who has performed tongue- and lip-tie procedures more than 8,000 times. He is an internationally recognized speaker on tongue-ties and author of the best-selling book, Tongue-Tied: How a Tiny String Under the Tongue Impacts Nursing, Speech, Feeding, and More.

It wasn’t until after Dr. Baxter’s dental education and pediatric residency program that he discovered his own tongue-tie. The fact that he went undiagnosed for so long, even after being immersed in the dental field, helped him to recognize that others were living limited lives because of their tongue-ties too—including his three daughters. Now, he’s on a mission to help educate providers and parents so that they can get the right treatment sooner.

Who is the course for?

Tongue-Tied Academy was created for dentists & physicians who want to deepen their knowledge of this emerging field. It's perfect for those who regularly work with infants and children or those who want to expand their skills to work with this important population. Our goal is to ensure you are prepared to assess tongue-tie patients, identify and diagnose properly, and make treatment decisions with confidence. If you are a therapist or another provider not interested in actually performing tongue-tie release procedures, we would highly recommend our LITE version.

Please note: The LITE version is a separate course, and you are not able to upgrade.

Will I really be ready to treat patients after only viewing this course?
2
3

Our goal is that after viewing and understanding all of the modules and treatment videos, you will be much better prepared than most providers who begin to do these procedures in their offices. This is the course Dr. Baxter says he wishes he had access to before treating his first patient. There are some who may want to shadow or view the procedures live and in person after completing the online course. We do offer our Advanced Live Patient Course at our office, which allows a hands-on, confidence-boosting experience to four attendees at a time (limited spots per month). For more information, visit https://tonguetie.com/live/

Will I receive CE credits for this course?
2
3

We offer 25 dental CE credits (ADA-CERP) through our partnership with Affordable CE Credits. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide medical CME credits or other types of credits (speech, lactation, etc.) at this time, unless your state will accept dental CE credits for licensure requirements.

Does this course teach about treating adults?
2
3

The main focus of this course is on infants, children, and adolescents, though we will discuss examining and diagnosing tongue-ties in adults to some extent. Through the course, we will show treatment techniques, discuss myofunctional therapy, and provide case studies and treatment videos, some of which will focus on adults. If you plan to treat adults, we would highly recommend viewing this course and Dr. Zaghi's Breathe Course, while also partnering with or training under a myofunctional therapist for best results.

Do you have any other courses?
2
3

Yes! After completing Tongue-Tied Academy, some doctors choose to come to our office to learn more at our Advanced Live Patient Course. Information can be found on our website at TongueTieAL.com/Professionals. We've also recently added an update to this course, you can learn more here.

Thank you for doing what you do.

That’s because, while releasing a tongue- or lip-tie may be seconds of work for you, the impact you make on a child lasts forever. Thank you for your dedication to education so, as a body, we can offer our patients and their families our very best. We’re proud to serve alongside you.
